Heather Arseth- Swimming

Arseth finished sixth in the second quarterfinal heat and 37th overall out of 46 swimmers. She grew up in Plymouth, Minnesota, but was eligible to swim for Mauritius through her mother who is from the Island Country in the Indian Ocean.

Arseth had trained with the Mauritius national team while on vacation there during her sophomore year in high school. Her mother gave her the idea to swim for Mauritius in the Olympics. Arseth’s maternal grandfather competed for Mauritius in the the Commonwealth games. She also swam for Mauritius in London, finishing 34th.
