Florida State and South Florida will meet for the fourth time in eight years Saturday at Raymond James Stadium. The Seminoles own a 2-1 advantage in the series. South Florida won the inaugural game between the in-state rivals 17-7 in 2009.

No one knows what to expect from Florida State after suffering the second-worst loss in school history 62-20 at Louisville last week. The worst loss was 49-0 at Florida in an 0-11 season in 1973, three years and two coaches before Bobby Bowden was hired.

FSU had to score ten points in the final 5:19 of the game to avoid the worst loss in school history and by a team ranked second in the polls.

The Seminoles needed a huge comeback to win their opener against Mississippi. The Rebels led 28-6 before FSU began a comeback with a touchdown with 0:36 remaining in the first half. They outscored Ole’ Miss 32-9 in the second half to escape 45-34.

Dalvin Cook has 228 yards rushing and two touchdowns and nine catches for 118 yards receiving through three games. He had seven catches for 101 against Ole’ Miss. Louisville almost completely shut Cook down. He had just 54 yards on 16 carries at the ‘Ville.

South Florida is led by Quarterback Quinton Flowers. Flowers has thrown for 711 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception and rushed for 150 and two touchdowns. The Junior threw for 22 touchdowns and eight int’s last year with 12 rushing touchdowns.

The Bulls have used a running back by committee. Four other players have rushed for over 100 yards, no one more than 165 yards. Rodney Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling lead the receiving corps. The Bulls look to establish the run first. They average 42 rushing attempts and 31 passing attempts per game.

South Florida is 3-0 after beating Towson, Northern Illinois, and ACC member Syracuse to start the season.
