Valeria Tipiana, Volleyball, 2000-2004
Tipiana was the 2002 Big East player of the Year and the driving force for the school earning its first NCAA Tournament appearance in its second season of existence. Tipiana went on to earn a first team All-ACC selection in 2004 after the ‘Canes switched conferences. She would also become the ‘Canes first honorable mention All-American that season.
Tipiana became the first Hurricane to pass 1,000 career kills and remains in the top three in career points, aces, kills, and digs. Tipiana will be the first Hurricane volleyball player inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.
