15. Art Kehoe
Kehoe had as much to do with the success of Miami Football as any of the head coaches. Kehoe was an offensive lineman for the Hurricanes in 1979 and ’80 next to current Hurricanes analyst Don Bailey Jr.and in front of current Miami Head Coach and former Quarterback Mark Richt.
Kehoe began his coaching career as a student assistant in 1981. Kehoe’s coaching on the offensive line helped several Hurricanes to thrive. Five of Kehoe’s pupils became first-team All-Americans and dozens more became NFL draftees.
Kehoe is the only staff member that was a part of all five of Miami’s National Championship teams. He was also a part of 25 Miami Bow teams. In addition to coaching the offensive line, Kehoe was also the tight ends coach in 1993 and ’94 under Dennis Erickson.
Kehoe served as the interim coach at Miami when Butch Davis left to coach the Cleveland Browns before the Hurricanes promoted offensive coordinator Larry Coker to Head Coach. Coker would fire Kehoe after the 2005 season.
He would coach the offensive line at Mississippi for two seasons, before former Miami Head Coach Al Golden hired him beginning with the 2011 season.
Kehoe was replaced by Stacy Searles as the offensive line coach when Richt was hired in 2015.
