Miami Hurricanes Create Social Media Buzz with win over UVA

Ironically, the outcome did wind up being decided by the first team to 50 and it took an overtime to decide it.  The teams were tied at 43 at the end of regulation. NCAA March Madness had some fun with the extra five minutes of basketball at the end of regulation.

The second half had tense moments to get to overtime. The Hurricanes had to come from behind after UVA took a 35-26 lead with 12:08 remaining in regulation. The final minute plus of regulation produced some tense moments and second guessing of the officials.

D.J. Vasiljevic’s three with just over a minute remaining in regulation got Miami even. The teams traded the lead over in the last-minute. With Miami clinging to a two point lead after a Bruce Brown three pointer had put the Hurricanes ahead, the ‘Canes Anthony Lawrence Jr was whistled for a foul.

Reed’s shot wasn’t the last of the game’s dramatics. The overtime and post game produced some dramatic moments and questions after the game.

It appeared to be a clean block on the Cavaliers Isaiah Wilkins. Wilkins hit two free throws to tie the game. Miami’s Davon Reed appeared to win the game at the buzzer for Miami, but the shot was ruled too late.
