Miami Hurricanes Draftees: NFL Combine Results
Sunday Results: AQM makes reappearance
The former defensive end for the Miami Hurricanes Al Quadin Muhammad earned a NFL Combine invite despite being kicked off the team prior to the season. Muhammad, who was slated to be a starter in 2016, was dismissed for breaking NCAA violations with a rental car scandal.
However, the former ‘Canes player participated in drills in front of teams without a playing a single snap in the 2016 season. Muhammad only played in 17 games in career at Miami and recorded 39 solo tackles and seven sacks. How did he fair?
40 Yard Dash – 4.88 seconds
Bench Press – 22 reps
Vertical Jump – 30.5 inches
Broad Jump – 117 inches (9.8 feet)
Three Cone Drill – 7.25 seconds
20 Yard Shuttle – 4.47 seconds
60 Yard Shuttle – 12.14 (5th best DL)
Here is what NFL.com has to say about Muhammad:
"Muhammad has the physical traits to warrant a look even though he hasn’t played football in two of the last three seasons. He’s a basic pass rusher who doesn’t have explosive burst upfield and he still has work to do with his hands. At this point, he’s a developmental outside linebacker with character baggage that could have a heavy impact on his draft status."
Muhammad brings a lot of baggage to the table for NFL teams. However, he does warrant a look for the physical traits he possesses. Yet, there are quite a few other prospects who NFL teams make take over AQM for his lack of experience on the film.
