NCAA Bracketlogy: Five Teams Miami Hurricanes are Most Likely to Play

J.D Barnett put the Rams on the map in the early 1980’s. He took them to five NCAA Tournament in six years and complied a record of 132-48 is six seasons in Richmond. In the 25 years after Barnett left, they would only have four more appearances.
Jeff Capel and former Alabama coach Anthony Grant both set a foundation for current Texas coach Shaka Smart to take to the next level. The Rams went 163-56 in Smart’s six seasons. They made the NCAA Tournament his last five and had a shocking Final Four run in Smart’s second season.
Their run to the Final Four came after they had to play in the first four. They won five NCAA Tournament games to get the National Semis. Will Wade succeeded Smart and led the Rams to the second round and a 25-11 record in his first season last year.
They are 24-7 this season and led by do everything guard JeQuan Lewis and forward Justin Tillman. Lewis averages 14.7 PPG, 3.0 RPG and 4.6 APG. Tillman is at 12.8 PPG and 8.4 RPG. Mo Alie-Cox is the other Ram in double figures at 10.0 PPG.
The Rams split games with Dayton who is 21st in the RPI and lost to number ten Baylor. They begin play in the Atlantic Ten Tournament as the second seed behind the Flyers.
VCU did play in Miami earlier this season in the HoopHall Classic a week after the Hurricanes did the same.
