2017-18 Roster

From the beginning of the season the starting lineup is almost definitely going to be Walker, Brown, Newton, Lawrence and Huell. The only other likelihood could be DJ Vasiljevic pushing Walker and Izundu pushing Huell.

The five most talented players are the ones mentioned as the likely starters. Vasiljevic improved a lot as a freshman and showed he is more than just the three-point shooter he seemed to be early in the season.

Izundu also improved as the season went on. He is a former soccer player who is still learning how to play basketball. He’s got good hands around the basket and is adept shot blocker. He and Huell led the team with 25 blocks. Izundu’s 2.4 blocks per 40 minutes played led the team.

Walker surprised recruiting experts who had him as an 80 percent chance to commit to Arizona. Walker signing with the Hurricanes was a huge coup for Jim Larranaga. He is the jewel of Miami’s five man recruiting class.

Rodney Miller is Miami’s other returning scholarship player for next season. He was very raw this season and did not play a lot. He only played 56 minutes in 15 games. Miller scored 14 points and had nine rebounds on 5-11 from the floor and 4-9 from the line.
