Washington Huskies standout forward Noah Dickerson will visit the Miami Hurricanes at the end of the month according to a report from Yahoo Sports via Rivals.Com’s the Dawg Report.

Dickerson asked for his release from Washington two weeks ago. He was third on the team at 12.5 points per game and led the Huskies with 8.2 rebounds per game. He started 27 of the Huskies 31 games and shot 54.7 percent from the floor this past season.

Dawg Report publisher Lars Hanson is reporting that Dickerson will visit Miami on April 30. The report says that the Atlanta native visited Virginia last weekend.

Dickerson just completed his sophomore season in Seattle. Miami Head Coach Jim Larranaga said in his postseason press conference last month that the Hurricanes were still searching for two more players for next season’s roster.

The ideal situation according to Larranaga would be to add a front court player with immediate eligibility and a guard who would sit out next season.

Dickerson originally signed with Florida out of Montverde Academy. He wound up at Washington when former Gators Head Coach Billy Donovan left for Oklahoma City.

Dickerson still might consider returning to Washington per Hanson’s report.

Dickerson is one of three starters that Washington is losing. The Huskies fired coach Lorenzo Romar last month. Romar’s firing also cost the Huskies a top ten recruiting class.

Fansided’s Washington site Husky Haul said of Dickerson:

"“Noah Dickerson was a very productive player for the University of Washington. In two seasons, he played in all games for the Huskies. His game really picked up when Markelle Fultz was lost to the team. In fact, his season high scoring occurred in the last two games of the regular season: 23 points against UCLA and 27 points against USC.”"

Dickerson showed he can be an elite player when Fultz missed games in February. Dickerson averaged 21 points and shot 60.5 percent from the floor when Fultz was out. His best games this season game when he blitzed USC for a career-high 27 and had 23 and 15 at UCLA.

That production came in blowout losses. The Huskies lost 74-58 to the Trojans and 98-66 to the Bruins.

ESPN’s Jeff Borzello was among the first to break Dickerson’s decision to pursue other opportunities three weeks ago.

Dickerson told the Seattle Times that his game was at its peak towards the end of the season.

"“I’m playing the better than I’ve played in a long time,” Dickerson said before the conference tournament. “The game is slowing down for me. I’m making plays and I’m finishing.”"

Dickerson would likely have to sit out next season but would give the Hurricanes a potentially elite big man for 2018-19. Larranaga is looking for an established big man that can play next season.

The returning core on the front line is largely unproven. Dewan Huell was inconsistent during his freshman season. A McDonald’s All-American and former five-star recruit Huell flirted with leaving after one season before the season began.

He finished the year averaging just 5.8 PPG and 3.1 RPG. Huell’s classmate Rodney Miller played only 57 minutes all season.

Ebuka Izundu showed flashes all-season of being able to be a very productive player but averaged only 13.1 minutes per game because of foul trouble. Izundu’s seven fouls per 40 minutes played were 2.5 more than anyone else on the team.

Getting Dickerson would be a huge coup for Larranaga and his staff. Dickerson would give Miami a presence inside likely for the 2018-19 season. The team should be influx after next season. Larranaga expects Bruce Brown and Lonnie Walker to declare for the draft after next season.
