Al-Quadin Muhammad DL New Orleans Saints Sixth Round 196 Pick Overall

Muhammad is an immense talent that had a troubled career as a Hurricane. He was suspended for the entire season in 2014 and 2016.

In 2015 Muhammad led the Hurricanes with 8.5 tackles for loss and five sacks. He finished third with 54 total tackles.

Muhammad has a lot of potential for growth and remaining upside. He played in only 17 games in college. Muhammad can play defensive end in the 4-3 or outside linebacker in the 3-4.

He joins a Saints team that finished 27th in the NFL in sacks in 2016. Veteran Cameron Jordan is entrenched at right defensive end. He led the Saints with 7.5 sacks and added 58 tackles last season.

He should be able to challenge Obum Gwachum at the other end spot. Gwachum has played only ten games in his NFL career. He joined the Saints in 2015 after being cut by Seattle. He will also have to battle with DE Trey Hendrickson from Florida Atlantic who the Saints Selected in the third round.

Muhammad has a lot of upside. The biggest concerns with him are his off the field issues. At the least, if Muhammad can make the team he should get playing time as a situational pass rusher on a team that desperately needs it.
