Vogel was projected to potentially be drafted in the seventh round. Being an undrafted free agent as a punter should not be viewed as a negative. Three kickers and a long snapper were the only specialists drafted this year.

Vogel goes to the Packers to compete with incumbent punter Jacob Schum. Schum finished 29th in the NFL out of 35 punters that qualified in 2016. He had a 43.2-yard average. His 39.1-yard net average was 25th in the league.

Vogel averaged 43.8 yards per punt, forced 33 fair catches, 25 inside the 20-yard line and 16 punts over 50 yards. He should be able to challenge Schum to be the Packers punter.

Malcolm Lewis had an injury-plagued five seasons at Miami. His career high of 25 receptions for 248 yards and a touchdown came in 2014. He had 17 for 211 and touchdown this past season.

Lewis signs with a Dolphins team stacked at wide receiver. Jarvis Landry is emerging as one of the best receivers in the NFL. Devante Parker and Kenny Stills have seemed to have solidified the other receiver positions.

After that, there is some opportunity behind those three. Among the players that Lewis will be competing with are former Hurricane Rashawn Scott and their seventh round pick, Isaiah Ford from Virginia Tech.

Lewis is going to have to make an impact on special teams to have a chance at making the Dolphins roster. He could play into the return game in addition to coverage. He averaged 21.3 yards on kickoff returns this season.
