Baseball America said that Miami still had work left to do heading into the ACC Tournament. Beating Wake should catch the committee’s eye. They projected Miami traveling to California as the third seed in the Stanford Regional. Baseball America’s projection had Cal State Fullerton and Bryant also competing in that regional.

Another website called College Sports Madness has Miami playing in a Regional with number 15 national seed Houston, Baylor and Illinois-Chicago. Some of these sites have to be taken with a grain of salt.

In his season preview of Miami CSM’s Joel Walser said of the Hurricanes:

"“Miami earned the third overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, but their postseason did not last long. The Hurricanes lost their opener to Arizona and were eliminated by UCSB in the next game. The Hurricanes will hope to quickly forget about the 2016 postseason and put it behind them.”"

This clearly neglected the Hurricanes accomplishment of winning a regional and super regional and getting to the College World Series.
