Former Miami Hurricanes Star James Jones is preparing for his seventh straight NBA Finals. Riding on the coattails of Lebron James, Jones went to four straight with the Miami Heat from 2011-14 and has gone to the last three with the Cavaliers.

Although not a huge contributor, Jones has cemented his place in NBA History amongst the greats who have gone to consecutive NBA Finals. He and James seven straight finals trips put them in a four-way tie for fifth for the most consecutive finals appearances ever.

The most Jones has averaged in a season was 9.3 points per game. That came in his third season in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns. Jones broke into the NBA with the Indiana Pacers. He was the Pacers second round pick, 20th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft.

Jones played one more season in Phoenix and one in Portland before joining the Heat for the 2008-09 season. The Miami native who attended American High School predated James by two seasons with the Heat.

Jones had some big playoff games for the Heat in their runs during the Lebron era. He career playoff high was 25 in a game one of the Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Boston Celtics in 2011.
