Rick Barry is unquestionably the greatest player in Miami Hurricanes history. He was a high scoring player at the U and became one of the best scorers in the NBA. In 1975 he led the Golden State Warriors to their first NBA Championship.

In three seasons as a Miami Hurricane, Barry averaged 29.8 points per game and 16.8 rebounds per game. As a Senior in 1965, he put up an insane 37.4 PPG, 18.4 RPG and shot 85.9 percent

Barry was one of the nation’s most prolific free throw shooters. He shot 85.9 percent from the line. He also averaged 11.3 made free throws per game on 13.1 attempts from the line. Both incredibly high numbers.

Barry has the eight highest scoring outputs in school history. All eight of those performances were at least 50 points. He is the only player in program history to score 50 in a game.

He also holds the school record for rebounds. Barry had 29 against Oklahoma City in 1965. He also has the two highest scoring and rebounding seasons in Miami history.

HIs 2,298 points are the most in school history. Eric Brown who was one of the Hurricanes original players after the rebirth of basketball came close. Brown scored 2,270 points in his career from 1985-89.
