The last time a Miami Hurricanes game attracted the attention of Gameday on site was when the number seven ‘Canes lost 41-14 at number three Florida State in 2013. Gameday broadcast that morning from Tallahassee.
The Gameday crew has not broadcast from a Miami home game since 2001. The Hurricanes defeated Syracuse 59-10 on November 17. That was the first of two games in which Miami set the record for largest margin of victory in back to back weeks against a ranked opponent.
Miami enacted revenge on Washington a week later with a 65-7 victory. The Huskies handed Miami their only loss in 2000. That kept Miami from the National Championship Game following the 2000 season. The back to back margins were an impressive 117 points combined.
The Gameday crew has built their set on South Beach for the Orange Bowl and National Championship games six times since their trip in 2001. Seven Miami road games since they hosted in 2001 have also been featured.
