Ed Reed played on what is the greatest collection of talent in the history of college football. Miami’s 2001 was one of the most dominant teams ever in college football.

He led that Miami defense that produced 21 Pro Bowl appearances. Reed was a two-time All-American and the 2001 Big East Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He holds several school records.

Among those is the Miami Football record in career interceptions with 21, the most interceptions returned four touchdowns with four and the career and single-season records in interceptions return yards.

According to his bio in the introduction to his team, Tunney is:

"“The brains behind the pro football history site Pro Football Journal, Turney is one of the most respected historians of the game and takes on causes of long-lost Hall of Fame candidates.”"

Tunney was the only drafter that picked two Hurricanes. Safety Ed Reed and kick returner Devin Hester were both selected by Tunney.

Ed Reed Safety (2002-2013)

"“Reed, along with fellow longtime Ravens Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs, helped form the backbone for one of the league’s most feared defensive units. He was a five-time All-Pro and nine-time Pro Bowler over his 11 years with the Ravens, plus a Super Bowl champion (XLVII) and NFL Defensive Player of the Year (2004). With 64 career interceptions, Reed will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019.”"
