Cortez Kennedy was a second-team All-American on Miami’s 1989 National Championship team. He was a 2004 inductee into the University of Miami Hall of Fame. After the 1989 season, Kennedy was the third pick of the 1990 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks.

Sadly Kennedy passed away in May at the age of 48. The three-time all -pro and 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee was selected on the MMQB All-Time team by former Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts General Manager Bill Polian.

Both Kennedy and Polian’s MMQB Profiles are below.

"Bill Polian– The only man to be NFL Executive of the Year for three franchises—and he won the award the Bills, Panthers and Colts twice each. Elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015. DT Cortez Kennedy (1990-2000) “A national champion at the University of Miami, Kennedy as a player and a person was the antithesis of that program’s reputation for irreverent swagger. The three-time All-Pro, eight-time Pro Bowl selection and 1992 Defensive Player of the Year missed just nine out of 176 possible games in his 11 seasons with the Seahawks, and was known for his soft-spoken and engaging demeanor. Kennedy was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012. He passed away in May of this year at age 48.”"
