Nine Miami Hurricanes Selected in SI MMQB All-Time NFL Draft
Jerome Brown played at Miami from 1984-86. He just missed out being a part of a National Championship team. In his final two years, the Hurricanes went into their bowl game with a chance to win a National Championship.
Miami lost to Tennessee in the 1986 Sugar Bowl and Penn State in 1987 Fiesta Bowl. Brown was a consensus All-American in his final season in 1986.
Brown finished his Miami career with 183 tackles, 21 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, five fumbles caused and four fumble recoveries.
Brown was selected in the all-time NFL Draft by John Wooten. Wooten and Brown’s profiles from MMQB are below.

"DT Jerome Brown (1987-1991) The ninth overall pick of the 1987 Draft, Brown played just five seasons with the Eagles before his life was cut short at 27 years old, when he died in a car accident that also took the life of his 12-year-old nephew. In his five seasons, Brown earned two All-Pro nods. Despite the briefness of Brown’s career, fans voted him to the Eagles’ 75th Anniversary Team in 2007."
