Sports Illustrated’s Monday Morning Quarterback came out with a list of the top 400 players in the NFL. Not too surprisingly several Miami Hurricanes were ranked.

Nine Miami Hurricanes made the list. That included Nose Tackle Vince Wilfork who many expected to retire. He is the last active player from Miami’s 2001 National Championship team. Other than Wilfork the list was not very diverse.

The Hurricanes on the list included three running backs, two tight ends, and two defensive ends. With Mark Richt continuing to stockpile talent the amount of Miami Hurricanes on this list should rise over the next few years. Nine is not a lot compared to what the U would have had in the past in during the championship eras.

The Hurricanes have landed players on several lists of the top players in the NFL this offseason. The most frequent to be honored have been Carolina tight end Greg Olsen and recently signed Jacksonville defensive end Calais Campbell.

At the end of his career Indianapolis running back, Frank Gore continues to be productive. With another good season in 2017, he will likely move into the top five in NFL history for rushing yards.
