Multiple Miami Hurricanes Named in NFL’s Top 400
RANK 391
"Free Agent-Vince Wilfork-Nose Tackle If he chooses to retire now, Wilfork will be the subject of a very interesting Hall of Fame debate in a few years."
Wilfork seems likely to retire. The fact he is still ranked as one of the top 400 at age 35 says a lot about how great a player he is. After spending the first 11 years of his career anchoring the defensive line in New England, Wilfork played the last two seasons with the Texans.
From 2011-13 Wilfork was named to the NFL’s top 100 by NFL.Com. He earned five trips to the Pro Bowl in his career. After the 2012 season, Wilfork was named first team All-Pro. During that season, he recovered four fumbles and had three sacks.
Playing nose tackle in a 3-4 defense throughout his career Wilfork didn’t produce the stats that some other defensive lineman did. If he does choose to retire, Wilfork will finish his career with 565 tackles and 16 sacks.
He won two Super Bowls with the Patriots and played in two others.
