"Few players in history have been as good at getting through small cracks as Gore."
Gore will likely go down as the Miami Hurricanes best NFL running back. He is within striking range of the top five rushers in NFL history.
Gore is currently eighth in NFL history with 13,065 yards. He is just 1,036 yards away from fourth place. Curtis Martin finished his career 14,101 rushing yards.
Gore ran for 1,065 yards last season. That was his ninth 1,000-yard season.
His career is pretty remarkable. Gore missed the entire 2002 season for the Miami Hurricanes after suffering a devastating knee injury. He only played five games in 2003.
Gore was finally able to resurrect his career in 2004. In his final season in college, Gore ran for 945 yards and eight touchdowns.
He was a valuable part of the Hurricanes 2001 National Championship team. That team had arguably the best stable of running backs in college football history. Gore teamed with Willis
McGahee to back up Clinton Portis.
He had averaged an incredible 9.1 yards per carry during that championship season. He finished with 562 yards and five touchdowns.
It’s hard to tell when Gore will finish his career. Many thought he was finished when he signed with Indianapolis.
In two seasons with the Colts, Gore has run for 1,992 yards and ten touchdowns. He has added another 72 receptions for 544 yards and five touchdowns.
