Lamar Miller

"Miller is a finesse runner, which usually is fine in Houston’s scheme. He’s at his best when he gets to the perimeter."

Miller had the best year of his career with the Dolphins in 2014. He ran for 1,099 yards and eight touchdowns. The former Miami Hurricanes running back added 38 receptions for 275 yards and another touchdown.

Miller had his second 1,000 yard season with Houston last year. Miller ran for 1,073 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 31 receptions for 188 yards and a touchdown.

In the first two playoff games of his career, Miller ran for 147 yards on 50 carries and a touchdown.

Miller played only two seasons for the Miami Hurricanes. He left for the NFL after his redshirt Sophomore season. Miller’s 1,272 yards in 2011 were the fourth highest in Miami Hurricanes program history. He added nine rushing touchdowns.

Miller was able to lead a Texans rushing attack that finished ninth in the NFL last season. They accomplished this despite an anemic passing game.

The Texans passing game finished 29th in yards and 30th in touchdown passes last season. MIller had to deal with Brock Osweiler and Tom Savage rotating at quarterback. The Texans drafted Deshawn Watson at quarterback this spring. That should help give them some stability going forward.
