Johnson and Isaiah Crowell complement each other. Johnson had 358 yards on the ground and 53 receptions for 514 yards receiving in 2016. Crowell had 958 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground and 40 receptions for 319 yards receiving.
Throughout his career, Johnson has been more prolific as a receiver than a runner. Johnson was a third round pick by Cleveland in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Johnson broke Ottis Anderson’s 36-year-old school career rushing record as Junior in his final season in 2014. After nearly reaching 1,000 yards on the ground as a Freshman and Sophomore the two previous seasons, he shattered the milestone in 2014.
Johnson ran for 1,652 yards and ten touchdowns in 2014. That trails only Willis McGahee’s school record of 1,753 yards in 2002. Johnson also added 38 receptions for 421 yards and three touchdowns the same season.
Johnson ran for 3,519 yards and 26 touchdowns in three seasons with the Hurricanes. He also caught 69 passes for 719 yards and four touchdowns.
