The Miami Hurricanes opened practice today at the Greentree Practice Fields. Head Coach Mark Richt discussed the team’s energy. Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz and several players also spoke to the media about the first day of practice.

Miami Hurricanes players Christopher Herndon IV, R.J. McIntosh, and Braxton Berrios also spoke to the media after practice to discuss the first day.

Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Richt is in second camp with UM and his 17th as a Head Coach. Richt spent 15 seasons at Georgia before coming to Miami after getting fired by the Bulldogs following the 2015 regular season.

Richt led the Hurricanes to a 9-4 record in his first season as Head Coach. That bettered the 8-5 record that legendary Head Coach Jimmy Johnson posted in his first season in 1984.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding Miami’s upcoming season. Richt led the Hurricanes to their first bowl victory in ten years. Miami defeated West Virginia 31-14 in the Russell Athletic Bowl last season.

The biggest question on everyone’s mind heading into camp is who will the quarterback be? Richt also has an infusion of talent coming from a top 15 recruiting class. Fans are excited about Freshman quarterback N’Kosi Perry and Freshmen wide receivers DeeJay Dallas, Mike Harley and Dee Jay Dallas.
