The Freshman have taken a mature approach to their play early in camp. McDermott has been impressed with how they have asserted themselves so far.

"“They have strong attention to detail, want to get better,” McDermott said. “It is easy for a freshman to come in here and say, ‘Oh, I don’t know what to do’ and ‘I don’t want to [put in] effort right now, I’m just trying to get a taste of what college football is like.’ No, they actually get after it and they are asking us questions constantly. They want to get better and I am really happy about that.”"

Breaking in a new quarterback during the first few weeks of the season the offensive line is going to be extremely important. By week three’s trip to Tallahassee to play Florida State, Searles and Mark Richt are going to need continuity to be effective on the field.

As it stands now the starting offensive line from left to right is St. Louis, Darling, Linder, McDermott and Donaldson. Brown and Gauthier will be the linemen to watch for a possible breakthrough in the starting lineup or to at least push for significant playing time.
