Johnson became a superstar during his second season. He had 79 receptions for 1,142 yards and six touchdowns. That was one of six 1000 yard seasons that Johnson had during his career.
In the fourth season of his career in 2006, Johnson led the NFL with 103 receptions. He also led the NFL in receptions in 2008. Johnson led the league in receiving yards in 2008 and yards per game in 2007, ’09 and ’10.

He made the All-Rookie team in 2003, twice was named first-team All-Pro, made seven Pro Bowls and was ranked in the NFL’s top 21 players four times.
Johnson struggled with injuries at times. He missed 23 games during his first 13 NFL seasons. The majority of those came during the 2007 and 2011 seasons when he missed 16 games combined.
Johnson finished his NFL Career 11th in receptions and receiving yards and 15th in receiving yards per game.
Johnson will eventually get into Canton, but it might take a few years. The number of wide receivers with Hall of Fame credentials that will be hoping to get inducted over the next five to ten years with be unprecedented.
What might hold Johnson back is that he only played in four playoff games during his career. The Texans first playoff appearance didn’t come until Johnson’s ninth season in the league.
In each of those seasons, the Texans won their Wild Card Game and lost in the Divisional round.
