Athlon Sports anonymously interviewed several ACC Coaches about their thoughts on other teams in the conference. The majority of the discussion on the Miami Hurricanes centered around who the quarterback will be, the experience they bring back and what Manny Diaz has done with the defense.
According to Athlon “These scouting reports come directly from coaching staffs”. That would seem to indicate that the views are not necessarily those of ACC Head Coaches. The defense, job Diaz has done and the recruiting by the Miami Hurricanes staff received the most praise.
With Mark Richt in his second season, the Miami Hurricanes are still working on establishing their identity in the ACC. Opposing fan bases focus on the lack of an appearance in the ACC Championship Game in 14 years in the conference.
The closest Miami got to the Conference Title Game was in 2012. The Hurricanes tied for the Coastal Division Championship with Georgia Tech and North Carolina that season. A self-imposed probation kept them out of the running for postseason play.
The observations about the Miami Hurricanes centered on who will play quarterback, Manny Diaz’s defense and a pair of players defensively.
"“They lost their quarterback, their best receiver and a big-time tailback, but they’re still probably the most talented team in the division.”"
