Although Miami did likely lose their best receiver in Stacy Coley, Ahmmon Richards was a Freshmen All-American. He set the Miami Hurricanes Freshman school record with 934 yards receiving.

Mark Walton had a breakthrough season last year. He ran for 1,117 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also adept out of the backfield.

The Hurricanes have a lot of talent in some spots but are short on depth at others. Quarterback is unproven and the depth behind Walton and tight end Chris Herndon IV is thin.

The wide receivers who will play opposite Richards have a lot of talent but for the most part have not proven themselves on the collegiate level.

"“They didn’t expect (Brad) Kaaya to go to the draft, and he kind of blindsided them so, ok, who’s up next? It’ll be a little bit of a wait-and-see thing with the quarterback position.”"

It’s debatable whether or not the coaching staff was blindsided by Kaaya’s decision. He was projected to leave for the NFL by Sports Illustrated in the spring of 2016. They had him being selected as the first pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He wound up slipping to the seventh round.
