Warren Sapp DT 1992-94

Teaming with Lewis for two seasons they formed one of the most intimidating tandems in Miami history. His exuberance and eccentricity created an intimidating style of play that menaced opponents.

Sapp is one of the most decorated players in Miami Hurricanes history. He became the first player from the Miami football program to win the Lombardi Award in 1994. He also was the unanimous Big East Player of the Year, Sports Illustrated Defensive Player of the Year and the Nagurski Award winner.

Sapp recorded  84 tackles, 25 quarterback pressures, and 10.5 sacks during his award winning 1994 season. Sapp finished his Miami career with 176 tackles, 19.5 sacks, and many forced fumbles and pass deflections.

In the NFL Sapp helped to revolutionize the position. He is one of the best pass rushers from the defensive tackle position in NFL history.

Sapp had double digit sacks four times during his NFL Career. His 96.5 sacks are 38th in NFL history and the most among any player that played all of his career at defensive tackle.

Sapp was named a first-team All-Pro four times during his career. He was named to the NFL’s all decade second-team and the 2000s first-team All Decade team.

Sapp was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013.
