With the College Football season about two weeks away, the predictions for the upcoming year keep rolling in. One rogue website has the Miami Football team making it through the regular season without a blemish.

College Football Analytics has the Miami Football team sweeping through the regular season without a loss. There have been other websites and articles that predict Miami to have anywhere from three to five losses.

The Miami football season has early road games. Miami is on the road weeks two and three. Miami travels to Arkansas State in a game they will be heavily favored. CFA predicts a 39-21 victory in Jonesboro.

Week three the Hurricanes jet to Tallahassee to face Florida State where they will be a significant underdog. CFA has that as UM’s closest game of the season.

The Hurricanes are expected so squeak out a 38-35 victory over Florida State. That would be a surprise. If Miami can win at FSU, the likelihood is that the game is a low scoring one.

Miami is expected to improve upon their 2016 9-4 season. The Hurricanes won their first Bowl game in ten years last season. They defeated West Virginia 31-14 in the Russell Athletic Bowl.

The Hurricanes were picked to win the ACC Coastal Division by the media. The excitement for Miami’s season revolves around the returns of rushing leader Mark Walton and receiving yardage leader Ahmmon Richards on offense.

The defense should be one of the best in the country. Miami returns its front seven intact. Six of the seven second stringers on the front seven also return.

Not only does CFA predict the Hurricanes to go undefeated, they are expected to be one of the most dominant in school history. Matt Porter of the Palm Beach post did a good analysis of CFA’s stats.

"The predicted point totals are almost more add up to a 12-game sum of 491.2 — an average of 40.9 points per game — and that, dear reader, is a lot of points for an offense replacing its quarterback. In fact, that would mean Miami would score more this regular season than every other Hurricanes team except for the 2002 team (527).Yes, more than the 2001 team (475) and 2000 team (469).It seems like a lot to ask this team to score more than the 2016 team, which — did you know? — finished with 446 points, the fourth-most in school history.Fifth place, in case you were wondering, was 2013 (440), followed by 1986 (420), 1999 (404), 1998 (402), 1990 (401) and 1985 (399)."

CFA has eight teams going undefeated this season. Louisville is one of the other undefeated teams. That would set up an epic matchup between the Hurricanes and Cardinals in the ACC Championship game.

Six of the eight teams are from power five conferences. Washington and USC from the Pac 12 are also predicted to go undefeated. That would set up another Power Five Conference Championship team between two undefeated teams.

Penn State and Oklahoma State are the other Power Five teams projected to go undefeated. That would likely set up a playoff with the ACC Champion, Pac 12 Champion, and Oklahoma State and Penn State that are also projected to be undefeated. The other two two teams that CFA has going undefeated are Western Kentucky and BYU.
