Mark Richt Calls out Miami Hurricanes After Practice Today
In a report from the Sun-Sentinel, Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Richt called out his team after practice today. The normally mild mannered Richt was so upset he asked reporters to not publish what he said to his team.
The article by the Sentinel’s Shandel Richardson extensively quoted Richt throughout the article. Richt called out the Miami Hurricanes players in an accompanying video that stated players were not “doing their jobs…or knowing what to do when it counts the most.”
The Miami Hurricanes are at the end of their third week of camp as they get ready for the season opener two weeks from tomorrow. Richt and his staff are still sorting through who the starting quarterback will be, the depth at running back and tight end, who will start where on the offensive line and working on the continuity in the secondary.
The most concerning thing is that Richt was not happy with the team’s effort. He mentions he thought his players were just jogging through the last two days of practice.
The lack of effort comes just one day before the team conducts its second scrimmage of training camp tomorrow. Unlike last week’s scrimmage at Hard Rock Stadium, the second of the three scrimmages will take place on campus.
