Last year, the Miami Hurricanes had several true freshmen contribute heavily to their success. What should we expect from Miami’s offensive true freshmen in 2017?

The Quarterback position brought in a pair of true Freshman for the Miami Hurricanes. N’Kosi Perry and Cade Weldon are both multi-dimensional at the position.

A lot of fanfare has accompanied Perry’s arrival. Many thought he would win the job to replace Brad Kaaya as the starting QB to start the season.

While Perry has not immediately taken hold of the job, he should play this year. He will be one of many true freshmen to do so this season. Perry will eventually start games for the Miami Hurricanes in 2017.

Perry has the height that Miami Head Coach Mark Richt likes in his QB’s at 6-4. He uses his pocket mobility to take shots downfield.

Perry is a pocket QB first and foremost. He uses his legs to escape would-be pass rushers and find targets downfield.

Perry has speed and elusiveness that makes him a perfect fit for the Run-Pass-Option (RPO). Richt would like to run more RPOs on offense than he did last season. Perry was rated the number 199 overall recruit, and number seven QB.  He is a future star for the Hurricanes.
