Miami Hurricanes vs. Bethune-Cookman Breakdown
One thing that jumped out close to field level was that’s Rosier has a longer release than his predecessor. Rosier’s baseball background seems to have embedded and intertwined into his throwing DNA. This idiosyncrasy can lead to some increased pass break ups by defensive backs in the future and bears revisiting.
Rosier did what was asked and managed the game well. There were some throws Rosier left on the field. Ultimately zero interceptions and the ball went to its intended target. Take that performance to the bank and build on it, Mr. Rosier.
Kudos Darrell Langham and Lawrence Cager. Much chatter focused on the new arriving speed brothers Mike Harley and Jeff Thomas that you essentially lost track of the Miami Hurricanes big receivers. Both Langham and Cager’s size played the biggest dividends in terms of skill set vs Bethune Cookman.
Langham had three catches for 65 yards one touchdown and posted 21.7 yards per catch average. Cager had three catches for 47 yards and one touchdown.
It was inside the red zone that the “bigs” presence was felt most. Cager had perfect positioning on a slant route and bully-bodied his defender beautifully for the score.
