Freshmen will be an integral part of the team this season. It was very encouraging to see them perform. Ahmmon Richards and Joe Jackson became household names with fantastic freshmen campaigns in 2016. You realistically will see similar type emergence from individuals of the freshman class in 2017. The talent is there.

Concerned with Defensive Secondary.

Bethune Cookman Quarterbacks amassed a 64% completion percentage and compiled 229 yards through the air. Bethune Cookman Quarterbacks amassed a 64% completion percentage and compiled 229 yards through the air.

Kudos to the Wildcat coaches

Bethune-Cookman constructed a brilliant game plan. They essentially never gave the Miami front seven time to sink their teeth.

Dee Delaney seemed comfortable with cushion out on the perimeter which was a far departure from Corn Elder’s in your face style. The Wildcats were able to methodically pick up first downs through the air and in turn held the ball essentially 9 minutes longer than the Hurricanes.

Miami held the Wildcats to 13 points and have held teams under 21 the last 6 contests going back to last season. However, Bethune Cookman extended the chains 20 times and countless first downs were direct results of the passing game.

Corn Elder was the eraser on third downs and limited countless drives last year with fierce and tenacious ball hawking skills. That wasn’t apparent on Saturday. Miami seemed content with cushion and did not exhibit that man covering ferocious feel from a year ago.
