17 Louisville at North Carolina Noon ESPN

The Cardinals and Tar Heels will be meeting for the first time since 2012. This will also be their first meeting as ACC Rivals. North Carolina lost to Clemson in the ACC Championship game in 2015.

Only a loss to the Tigers prevented Louisville from playing the game last season. The loss to Clemson was their only ACC loss in 2016.

Louisville has two of the nation’s top 25 players. Lamar Jackson returns for his third year as the Cardinals starter. He rode a string of incredible early season performances to win the Heisman Trophy in 2016.

The Cardinals struggled in their opener last Saturday. UL defeated Purdue 35-28 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

North Carolina is missing its own star quarterback. The Chicago Bears drafted Mitchell Trubisky with the second pick in 2017.

The Tar Heels used Chazz Surratt and Brandon Harris at quarterback last week. Neither played particularly well. Surratt was clearly better. North Carolina lost their home opener 35-30 to California.

Both teams scored points in all four quarters. North Carolina had 440 yards of offense but gave up 469 yards. The player to watch for North Carolina offensively is running back Jordon Brown.

Brown had 13 carries for 54 yards on the ground and nine receptions for another 53 yards last week. Linebacker Devante Downs led the Tar Heel defense. He finished with 13 tackles and an interception last week.

The Miami Hurricanes travel to North Carolina October 28.
