"Fires reasoning was that “Florida Atlantic (Wisconsin), Florida International (Alcorn State) and Florida Tech (McNeese State) left ahead of the storm in an effort to keep their scheduled road games.”"

The examples he uses are beyond non-sequiturs. FAU and FIU are schools at the bottom of the Football Bowl Subdivision. Florida Tech is a Division II school that was playing at an FCS school.

Amazingly he chose to leave out that Florida, Florida State, Central Florida and South Florida all canceled their games Saturday. None of the games will be made up. UCF and USF had to cancel American Athletic Conference games against Memphis and UConn.

Losing those games for the latter two schools could cost those teams later in the season. They chose to err on the side of caution instead of playing a football game. Broward Mayor Barbara Sharief speaking in a press conference earlier today said the majority of stop lights and power are out in Broward County.

Per CBS4 in Miami nearly 1.5 million customers in Dade and Broward Counties are without power. Eighty percent of customers in the state of Florida are currently without power.

While FAU is in Palm Beach County and FIU in Dade, who knows what either team will have to deal with when they return home. Although FIU chose to evacuate their Football team, the school is closed until further notice according to the FIU website in a statement released by University President Mark Rosenberg.
