Notre Dame at Boston College 3:30 ET ESPN

The Fighting Irish and Eagles both enter their meeting 1-1. This is the 24th meeting. Notre Dame currently holds a 14-9 edge. Notre Dame has won the last five meetings to take the edge in the all-time series.

It has been a series of streaks. Notre Dame won the first four, lost the next two, then won four in a row. Boston College then won seven of the next eight before the current Boston College streak.

Notre Dame won its opener convincingly 49-16 over Temple. That pushed them into the top 25 at number 24. Their 20-19 loss to Georgia last weekend dropped them out of the top 25.

Boston College defeated Northern Illinois 23-20 in the opener. They lost 34-10 last week to Wake Forest.

The BC offense has been anemic this season. They have 354 yards passing. That their two-game total, not an average. Their running game is averaging 145 yards per game, but just 3.2 yards per carry.

After running for 422 yards in the opener on 44 carries, the Irish struggled on the ground against Georgia. The Irish ran for 123 net yards on 34 carries. Quarterback Brandon Winbush was sacked three times for a net loss of 34 yards.

Winbush threw for 210 yards in the loss to Georgia. The Irish defense allowed 392 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs ran for 185 yards.

The player to watch is Boston College Defensive End, Harold Landry. Landry was ranked the number nine player in the country by Sports Illustrated.
