23 Tennessee at 24 Florida 3:30 ET CBS

The Volunteers travel to Gainesville 2-0. Florida lost its opener two weeks ago to Michigan in Arlington, Texas at Jerry’s World. The Gators canceled their game last week because of the impending doom of Hurricane Irma.

The game will feature a showdown between two former Miami Hurricanes Head Coaches. Randy Shannon is the Gators Defensive Coordinator and Larry Scott is Tennessee’s Offensive Coordinator.

The Volunteers earned an exciting 42-41 victory over Georgia Tech at Mercedes Benz Stadium in the opener. They followed that up with a 41-7 victory over FCS Indiana State last week.

Shannon’s defense played well in the first half against Michgan. They held the Wolverines to 13 points and had two pick sixes. Michigan shut out the Gators 20-0 after halftime.

The Wolverines used a balanced offense in the victory. They had 215 yards on the ground and 218 through the air. The time off might have given the Gators a chance to recover from the loss.

They also enter the game against Tennessee with eight players suspended. The Volunteers have averaged 228 yards passing and 154 yards rushing through two weeks.

Quarterback Quinten Dormady and running back John Kelly are the players to watch for Tennessee. Florida has former Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire battling for playing time.

The Gators could only manage 192 yards of offense against Michigan. The running game only managed a net of 11 yards.
