The final drive was a valiant effort led by Rosier. The Miami Hurricanes were missing running back Mark Walton, wide receiver Ahmmon Richards and guard Navaughn Donaldson were all out with injuries. Richt discussed the valiant winning drive.
"On missing key players on the last drive (Richards, Walton, Donaldson)… “They’re good players, not doubt. You named them – three of our top players –Navaughn (Donaldson) is trying to be a top player. He’s certainly starting as a true freshman so he’s a very integral part of our program. When you take Ahmmon Richards and Mark Walton healthy, they are as good as you could hope for. Guys got in there and stepped up. Took care of business. Malik (Rosier) – obviously his numbers aren’t pretty at all — especially after looking at them after the game but like I said before, the stats really don’t matter. What matters is making the play – you’ve got to make the play when they present themselves. And you’ve got to play physical. And you’ve got to win the turnover battle and I think we did all three of this things.”"
