It would be easy for any team to get complacent after ending a long losing streak to a rival. After the game, the players realize this is just one game on a journey to a bigger goal.

"Your players said this wasn’t a destination; it was one rung on the ladder … “No doubt. We definitely would love to end up in Charlotte to play for the championship. Miami has never represented in that game. We obviously have a long way to go but being 2-0 is a good start. We’ve got meat of our Coastal Division coming up. Obviously, Georgia Tech is resting up pretty good while we have exerted every ounce of energy you could hope for. The good news is we’ll be home and I know our fan base is going to support us and give us the juice we need. There is a long way to go as far as that race.”"

The win over Florida State is one step to bigger things that could be waiting at the end of the season. Walton’s surgery that is costing him the season is huge. Miami will likely be favored in every game they play the rest of the season. That begins with a one-loss Georgia Tech team on Saturday at home.
