Que the running game. The first two games the Miami Hurricanes totaled 571 yards. The next two conference match-ups and it drops to a total of 222 yards. The Miami Hurricanes faced tough Florida State and Duke run defenses the past two weeks. Florida State is 27th and  Duke seventh nationally against the run. Mark Walton got hurt and the Hurricanes run game was 349 yards less efficient.

Dee Delaney was targeted nine and half times giving up 117 yards and two touchdowns vs Toledo. That stat line would have made wide receiver fantasy owners exuberant. Delaney recovered to play well against Florida State, He ball hawked an interception at a critical juncture of the game. Grab the turnover chain Dee. You earned it.

So much unevenness across the board through the first third of the season yet here is the reality. Miami has the 3rd current longest win streak in all of FBS at nine games. This win streak extends to last season including a bowl win vs. West Virginia.

Miami is streaking. Miami must be back. Is Miami back? Mark Richt addressed the question on his weekly TV show and said candidly and calmly “No.” Not yet. You are hard pressed to argue with the head coach. Richt has been coaching for 33 years. He has seen some things.
