The Miami Hurricanes earned another heart-stopping last-second victory on Saturday. A Michael Badgley 24 yard field goal with four seconds remaining gave Miami the 25-24 victory.

The turning point in the game came during a second-half downpour. That neutralized the Georgia Tech Triple Option. It slowed the track for the speed of the Yellow Jackets offense and gave the Miami Hurricanes defense a better chance to stop the run.

As it was the Hurricanes defense was able to slow down the option. Georgia Tech finished with 226 yards on 56 carries. That was 170 yards and more than a yard per carry less than they came in averaging.

Malik Rosier continues to impress with his late-game heroics. Rosier overcame a second straight slow start. He led the Hurricanes on a 15 play 85-yard drive in 2:20 to get the Hurricanes in position for Badgley’s game-winning field goal.

Sophomore running back Travis Homer was outstanding replacing Mark Walton who is out for the season. Homer ran 20 times for 170 yards and a touchdown had two receptions for 18 yards and another touchdown.

Richt opened his post-game press conference by talking about what the victory means to the Miami Hurricanes program.
