MIAMI GARDENS, FL – OCTOBER 14: Jeff Thomas /

Langham had three receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown in the Miami Hurricanes opener. Langham has stepped up in the absence of the injured Ahmmon Richards. Richards participated in warmups Saturday but was not able to go.

After missing the first two games of the season, Richards played against Duke and Florida State the last two weeks. He wasn’t able to finish the game against the Yellow Jackets after reinjuring his hamstring. Richards was one of three Miami Hurricanes Freshmen All-Americans in 2016.

Langham was shutout in wins over Toledo and Duke. He has become a force when needed the last two weeks. Freshman Jeff Thomas also had an explosive 70-yard reception to set up a Michael Badgley field goal. Langham spoke in the postgame press conference.

On having big catches back to back weeks…

"“Coach always tells us to be prepared and leave it on the field, to know our assignments and go full speed.”"

On the mindset when the ball was thrown…

"“Be big and get the ball. He (Mark Richt) tells me every day in practice use my body to my advantage.”"
