The Miami Hurricanes overcame the loss of five starters out with injuries to defeat Georgia Tech on Saturday. Head Coach Mark Richt credited that to rotating his players and giving the reserves playing time.

The Miami Hurricanes have been without star Wide Receiver Ahmmon Richards for three games this season. Starting running back Mark Walton was lost for the season after having ankle surgery following the Florida State game. Guard Navaughn Donaldson, cornerback Dee Delaney and safety Sheldrick Redwine all sat out against Georgia Tech with injuries.

Walton’s backup Travis Homer and reserve wide receiver Darrell Langham played huge roles in the victory over Georgia Tech. Homer ran 20 times for 170 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 18 and another touchdown.

Langham had five receptions and a team-leading 100 yards receiving. He had the game’s biggest reception for the second straight week. Langham had the spectacular game-winning touchdown against Florida State a week ago. He followed that up with an improbable 28-yard reception on fourth an ten to put Miami in field goal range.

Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Richt had his weekly appearance on the Joe Rose show Monday morning to discuss the Hurricanes win over Georgia Tech, the importance of building depth how well the reserves have stepped up, second half adjustments and injury updates.
