The Miami Hurricanes are 6-0 on the year after another hard-fought ACC win vs. Syracuse. The Canes are perfectly perched in the driver’s seat as we passed the midway point of the 2017 season.

You watch these 2017 Miami Hurricanes with your eyes and you would swear they are playing tricks on you. The Hurricanes are undefeated on the year though highlighted by inconsistent play and late quarter heroics.

Let’s set the par for the course. Manage zero points in the first half vs FSU only to follow it up with a 24 point explosion in the second half.  Miami’s defense forced four turnovers versus the Syracuse Orange in the first half and essentially squandered it to a one-point lead in the fourth.

Paging Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide. Equally confusing is how utterly disjointed the offense seemed to be versus the Orange Saturday. Yet when you check the stat sheet, a magical  480 total yards. Rosier was 26 of 43 for 344 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Miami entered the contest vs. the Orange as the second leading team in the ACC in total offense averaging 472 yards a game. Only Louisville led by reigning Heisman winner Lamar Jackson averages more. Miami beat its yard average at home Saturday. Miami needs to improve its total offensive efficiency.
