On the play of senior TE Christopher Herndon IV, who had career highs in catches and yards…
"“What did he catch, 10 [passes]? Is that right? That’s a big day. Bottom line is, a lot has to do with the play we call and how the defense lines up. Some of those bubbles, we’re not going to throw the bubble no matter what. We’re going to throw it if they line up a certain way. Some of the routes where he goes down five yards and sits down, he’ll catch it in certain coverages and in other coverages we’re trying to throw routes behind it. A lot of it has to do with the coverages. He played a lot of snaps, and at one time he was struggling a little bit. I think his shoulder got dinged up a little bit, and we started going ‘10’ personnel for a minute, which is four receivers and one running back with no tight ends. That’s really when we hit Jeff Thomas on the touchdown. If we were in what we call ‘11’ with Herndon in the game, it might have been [Braxton] Berrios there. We had Berrios where Herndon was, and we had Jeff where Berrios normally is. We caught tight coverage over there and ran by the kid.”"
