A lot is often made about if and when teams peak during their season. The 2016 Hurricanes had two peaks. They started the season with four straight wins, lost the next four and finished the season with five straight victories. Where does this team sit?

"“There’s no doubt we can get better. I can only hope we keep getting better. I don’t know what the right time is to peak. But if we could keep getting better, that would be really good for us. And we all know we can be better.”"

Despite playing a struggling North Carolina this week, the Hurricanes can not afford to look ahead to the games the following two weeks against Virginia Tech an Notre Dame. Richt was asked how far ahead they can start preparing for the Hokies and Fighting Irish.

"“I’m not going to talk about Notre Dame. … I’m not going to talk about another team. I think it’s a legitimate question, but If I answer it, it’s like ‘He’s not thinking about this opponent.’ I don’t need that.”"

Miami’s run defense which was stellar in 2016 has struggled this season. The Hurricanes are giving up an average of 180.3 yards per game on the ground. That puts them 11th in the ACC. Rich was asked if that’s a concern.
