"It’s a tough game, a physical game. … Sometimes you just need to get your blood pumping. If I did a video of what’s going on now, it’d be everyone saying, ‘Gosh, Miami’s not so bad after all.’ So, can they handle that? I’m not going to be showing videos of that.”"
Richt recently said that big games are why he returned to Miami. SoFla is a big event metropolitan area. Some people like to criticize Miami sports as being bandwagon fans. The game against Notre Dame was the biggest the Hurricanes have played in since Miami and Florida State played each other in the 2004 Orange Bowl.
Richt discussed what it was like for him after Miami’s victory over the Fighting Irish on Saturday.
"“All said, I probably had 150, 200 text messages from guys I coached, or coached with or family members and just people within our program. … And I appreciated it. It was a game, obviously, everybody in the college football world was watching. You can’t ask for a better result. It was a big moment for our crowd, a big moment for our players, a big moment for the program in general, for our football alumni. Those guys were fired up.”"
