Miami Hurricanes 2017 Seniors going out on high note
Wide Receiver-Braxton Berrios
By the end of the 2017 season, Berrios will have eclipsed his number for the first three years of his career. He entered the 2017 season with 43 receptions for 496 yards and five touchdowns. Berrios is the Miami Hurricanes leading receiver this season with 37 receptions for 475 yards and eight touchdowns.
Defensive End- Chad Thomas
After being a reserve during his first two seasons with the Hurricanes, Thomas has become a leader of the Miami defense over the last two seasons.
Thomas has thrived in Manny Diaz’s aggressive, get upfield attacking defensive system. Thomas recorded 25 tackles, two and a half tackles for loss and one sack in his first two years with the Hurricanes. Under Diaz the past two seasons Thomas has 57 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and six and a half tackles for loss.
Tight End-Chris Herndon IV
Herndon has stepped out of the shadow of David Njoku this season and has teamed with Berrios to become Malik Rosier’s most reliable receiver. He has improved in each of his seasons getting on the field.
Herndon didn’t earn a lot of playing time until his Sophomore season in 2015. He recorded 18 receptions for 237 yards and a touchdown that season. He improved that to 28 for 334 and two touchdowns last season.
