A spot in the College Football Playoff is simple for the Miami Hurricanes. Win their last two games and they are all but guaranteed to be one of the four teams in the College Football Playoff.

What happens if the Miami Hurricanes lose one of their last two games? Would a loss to Pittsburgh, or Clemson be looked on more favorably by the committee?

If they lose to Pittsburgh a one loss Miami would have a win over Clemson. Conversely, a loss to the Tigers would probably not be as bad as one to Pittsburgh. Clemson survived their only loss to the Panthers last season and eventually won the national championship.

Oklahoma and Clemson are currently the one-loss teams with the strongest cases to make the playoff. The Sooners lost to four-loss Iowa State.

The committee seems to be cutting the second-ranked Tigers slack for their loss at seven loss Syracuse. Clemson starting quarterback Kelly Bryant missed the second half against the Orange because of a concussion.

Yet, somehow, Miami doesn’t seem to be getting the same benefit of the doubt for their injuries. The Hurricanes have played their last six games without starting running back Mark Walton. Star wide receiver Ahmmon Richards has also dealt with strained hamstring all season.
